The Biennale of the Book of Rio 2025 takes place until 22 June, in Riocentro, in the western area of Rio de Janeiro. Together, this edition takes place in the year in which the city of Rio de Janeiro is consecrated as the “world capital of the book” by UNESCO (United Nations for education, science and culture).
The fourth largest event in Rio de Janeiro – behind only New Year, Carnival and Rock in Rio – mobilizes several generations around reading, bringing together families, students, authors and books in the same space for discovery and cultural exchange.
Relationship between printing and digital

According to the “Panorama of Book Consumption” study by the Brazilian Book Chamber (CBL), held from 14 to 20 October 2024 by Nielsen Bookdata, 56% of readers have purchased only physical books in the last 12 months, while 14% have acquired only digital. Another 30% purchased both printing and digital.

While one offers a more tactile and intimate relationship with the content, the other enlarges, facilitates access and allows new forms of interaction.
