I’m still hereOscar winner for best international film, leads the dispute for Great Othello Award for Brazilian Cinema with 16 indications. The Brazilian Academy of Cinema announced on Monday, June 16, the full list of nominees to the award, previously known as the Brazilian Cinema Award.

The feature Walter Salles (Central do Brasil) appears among the finalists of all the main categories of the award, including better film, direction (Walter Salles), Actress (FERNANDA TORRES, Foreign land), Actor (Selton Mello, The Auto da Compadecida), Supporting actress (Barbara Luz, Unicorn and Valentina Herszage, The Polacas) and supporting actor (Humberto Carrão, Aquarius).

The nominations come after the controversy that the film would be considered Hors Concours and would be out of competition. The academy even considered a special trophy for the “set of the work” to I’m still hereHowever, the producers refused the tribute, stating that this would hurt the professionals who worked in the film and could have their effort recognized in the competitive categories. Without the tribute, the film joined the race for all the main statuettes. Check out the full list of nominees:
