The first team in Brazil to enter the field was Palmeiras, last Sunday, in the 0-0 draw, by group A. The game was played at the Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and attracted 46,275 fans, the largest audience of the country’s clubs, with 50.09% of the total stadium capacity (82.5 seats).
Also on Sunday, Botafogo beat Seattle Sounders 2-1 from Group B to Lumen Field in Seattle. The game had 30,151 gifts, which represented 43.7% of the stadium occupation.
On Monday Flamengo passed the Spered 2-0, from group D, to Lincoln Financial Field, in Philadelphia. The game had the lowest audience among the Brazilians, with 25,797 fans and only 37.39% of the occupied capacity.
Already Tuesday, Fluminense designed 0-0 with Borussia Dortmund, from group F, also at the Metlife stadium, with 34,746 fans present, equivalent to 42.1% employment.
The competition, which debuted in a new format, approaches the sign of 1.5 million tickets sold. In the first three days, over 340,000 fans crossed the stadiums, creating electrifying atmospheres and surprising scenes. The expectation continues, with four of the five most sought after games in the group stage.
