The 11th edition of Santos Film Festthe Santos Film Festivalstarts this Tuesday, June 24, and extends until July 2 with exhibitions, debates, honors and more. This year, the event celebrates the memory and diversity of Brazilian cinema.
The new edition of the event, which brings as its theme “Stories that echo, lessons that remain”, highlighting the importance of memory, will occupy more than ten cultural spaces of Santos with exhibitions such as Regional (Cine Roxy), university, peripheral (art in the dike), humanities (Cinemateca de Santos) and infant sessions spread across schools and NGOs.
For the new edition, 908 films were enrolled, about 100 feature films and over 800 shorts. The program also includes blue cinema sessions (for people with disabilities), children’s sessions, lectures, chats, book launches and audiovisual personalities.
The opening, held on June 24 at Cine Roxy (Ana Costa Avenue, 443 – Gonzaga – Santos/SP -Cep: 11060-003), will have the premiere of the documentary Chico Gomes: Triple Domainabout the honoree musician, who will also win a star on the Roxy Walk of Fame. At the time, they will also be honored:

- Wanderley Augusto Camargo (Leyzão)
- And the centenary of Maurice Legeard.
