F1: Lindblad will make its debut with Red Bull to Silverstone

Helmut Marko confirmed that the British will be in free training 1 in his home race.

Younger pilot to win a Formula 2 race and a great promise from the Red Bull Pilot Academy, Arvid Lindblad will make its debut at Formula 1 in the first free practice of Silverstone. Although he is only 17 years old, he received an Fia permit that will allow him to ride even without reaching the age of the majority.

With Campos Racing in 2025 in F2, the British has already won two races and currently occupies 3rd place in the overall classification of the pilot championship, at the only eight points of the leader.

Lindblad has a very positive track record in his career and this year he was the champion of the Oceania regional formula, adding points for the Superlice – and it is not a secret that it was a request from Helmut Marko himself, therefore he is granted before the eighteenth anniversary of the young pilot.

However, on Red Bull and Racing Bulls, the reserve pilot is Ayumu Iwasa, another member of the Junior team, but his commitments in Japan, where he currently runs in the super formula, shock with the Formula 1 calendar. This has created situations in which the Japanese are not available, leaving the opportunity to Lindblad, who is already mentioned to go up to the racing bulls of 2026, Formula 2 performance.

Lindblad had the opportunity to guide an AT04 in Imola, completing over 300 kilometers to prepare for his debut in TL1 at Silverstone next week, as confirmed by Marko himself:

“Last Monday, he led half a day in Italy to prepare. And he will also be behind the wheel during the Friday tests in Silverstone,” Marko confirmed in an interview with Kleine Zeitung.

“We are only preparing for something that really happens to Max Verstappen regarding their penalty points. At the moment we have two reserve drivers: Lindblad and Ayumu Iwasa. It is not so easy to find someone in good shape. And that’s why Lindblad is in the car now.”

Behind the scenes, Red Bull continues to invest heavily in young talents, with Lindblad currently as a show star. However, Marko believes that other drivers are ready to jump in the coming years:

We have the son of Juan Pablo Montoya in Formula 2 and a Bulgarian, Nikola Tsolov, who won the Formula 3 race in Munich. We have many talents on the front line, which is fantastic. We continue to develop the program, always according to our motto: “We do not buy stars, we built them”.
