10 films that criticism loved, but the public hated

Critic and public do not always see films in the same way. It is not uncommon that a title acclaimed by the experts ends up causing an opposite reaction to the average viewer, which is frustrated or disappointed by the session.

With this in mind, we listed 10 films that received critics, but we were rejected by the public and where to watch them on streaming.

To Astra: towards Stars (2019)

Under the direction of James Gray, the “Astra” science fiction has had a large positive reception of criticism.

Brad Pitt recites the film as an astronaut who travels in search of his father (Tommy Lee Jones), a scientist whose obsession with intelligent life in space threatens the entire sun system.

With an 83% approval in Marci tomatoes, the critical consensus indicates the direction of Gray, the performance of Pitt, the look and the theme of the family as the greatest qualities of the film.

However, the film was a box office failure. The most recurring complaints of the average public are that the film is slow and sleepy.

Gross Jewelry (2019)

With the star of the comedy Adam Sandler in the main role, “Gross Jewelry” is a criminal drama and a suspense directed by the brothers Josh and Benny Safdie.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)

The second film of the sequence of “Star Wars” trilogy, “The Last Jedi” follows Rey in search of the help of Luke Skywalker while the resistance is preparing for the battle against the first order.

Cosmópolis (2012)

Although the criticisms actually did not “adore” “cosmópolis”, his reception divided weighed more on the positive side.

Written and directed by the cultured David Cronenberg, the film is based on the novel of the same name by Don Delillo.
