DC’s relationship with cinema is already old. With Superman’s films in the 70s and 80s and Batman in the 90s, the heroes of the publisher have always been present on the screens.
And when Marvel brought a new trend in 2010, with a shared universe of heroes who dominated everything, DC did not want to be left behind and also launched its interconnected productions.
So, in the face of so many productions, it can be a little confused try . Thinking about it, we put together some ways to follow these stories in the right sequence. Check!

DCU (James Gunn)

The screenwriter and director James Gunn is currently responsible for the production of films and series of the new phase of the DC universe. These productions will restart all previous adaptations for cinema, with some exceptions that will be incorporated.
Below is the chronological order of some of the productions already issued and future titles already confirmed for the debut soon:

DC Extended Universe (DCEU)

Started with “The Man of Steel” in 2013, DC Extended Universe (DCEU) was the largest shared universe of DC Hero’s films until then.
However, the mixed receptions of fans, public and criticisms led to their closure. Currently, a new DC and series film franchise is being developed.

Superman
Take a look at the different chronological orders of Superman films:
Superman Christopher Reeve
Between 1978 and 1987 four “Superman” series were published, with Christopher Reeve, all played by Christopher Reeve in the role of the steel man. The first three films were produced by Alexander and Ilya Salkind.

In addition, in 1984 the “Supergirl” spin-off was released, also produced by Salkind. Already the fourth and last film with Reeve was produced by the Cannon Group.
Superman – The return

In 2006 the film “Superman-The Return” was published, directed by Bryan Singer.
The film works as a continuation of “Superman” (1978) and “Superman II” (1980), ignoring the events of other franchising films and, on the table, also excluding “Supergirl”.
Superman series movies

Between 1948 and 1950, producer Sam Katzman, through Columbia Pictures, held two series of Superman films. Everyone is for 15 chapters, about 20 minutes each.
The actor Kirk Alyn plays in the role of Superman in both productions.
Batman
Take a look at the different chronological orders of Batman’s films:
Reververser / New Batman Universe

Directed by Matt Reeves, the 2022 “Batman” film is a restart of the Batman film franchise. The film has no link with DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and presents a younger version of Batman, in an initial phase of his vigilante career. Robert Pattinson gives his life to the hero.
The feature is not part of the plans for the new phase of the DC universe, led by James Gunn, therefore being a separate universe. In 2024, the series derived “Penguin” was published, focused on the character of the title that appears in “Batman” and again played by Colin Farrell.
Nolanversis

The trilogy of Batman’s film directed by Christopher Nolan is part of his universe and has no link with other DC productions released to the cinema.
With Christian Bale like Bruce Wayne/Batman, this trilogy differs from other productions for its realistic approach.
Batman 1989-1997 (Tim Burton series and Joel Schumacher)

Between 1989 and 1997, Batman won a series of four films. The first two films, “Batman” (1989) and “Batman: The Return” (1992), have the direction of Tim Burton and bring Michael Keaton in the role of the hero. These films have Gothic visual elements and a characteristic sense of the director’s humor.
The “Batman Forever” sequences (1995) and “Batman & Robin” (1997) had Joel Schumacher as director and have a more colorful field. In these productions, Bruce Wayne/Batman was played by Val Kilmer in 1995 and George Clooney in 1997.
Joker

In 2019 a solo film by Joker was published, set in an alternative and independent story of the other Batman film universes. This version of the character, named Arthur Fleck, was created specifically for the function and played by Joaquin Phoenix, directed by Todd Phillips.
In 2024, the film obtained a sequel entitled “Delirium to Two”, bringing Phoenix again to the main role and Phillips in the direction. The sequence cast also includes Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn.
Batman series movies

In the 1940s, two serialized cinematographic productions of Batman were published, produced by Columbia Pictures. Both productions have 15 chapters, each about 20 minutes long.
The actor Lewis Wilson lives the hero in “The Bat”, already in “The Bat Return” who plays the character is Robert Lowerry.
Autonomous movies

Here are films that are not part of any event chronology and have no sequel. Many of these titles are considered autonomous films because they have had a low performance at the box office and/or critical.
