Stage that happens this weekend delivered a historic race in 2024. Take a look at every programming!
The World Cup of motorcyclists will return this weekend with the traditional German GP in Sachsenring, valid for the 2025 season. The German track, which was a fertile ground for Marc Márquez who won there on seven occasions, brings good memories to the Spanish family. Last year, the Márquez brothers shared the podium on MotoGP for the first time and the trend is to repeat.
Marc’s domain in Assen
Last Sunday (June 29), the category crossed the legendary Assen, the Netherlands. There, Marc Márquez shone once again: he won the main race after starting from the fourth position and took the tip again in the initial laps. Marco Bezzecchi even pressed the Spaniard for most of the race, but he came second. Peppy Bagnaia completed the podium.
Brazilian victory over Moto2 and Rueda’s hegemony on the motorcycle3
In Moto2, Brazil has experienced a historical moment. Diogo Moreira won his first victory in the category, in a coherent and strategic performance. The result kept the Brazilian in third place in the championship, consolidating his name among the main talents of the season. Okay3, the Spaniard José Antonio Rueda won a contested race and continues to lead the championship.
Historical podium in 2024
In 2024, Sachsenring was the scene of a rare company: Marc and Alex Márquez brought the podium together for the first time in the history of MotoGP. Marc won and Alex got the third. The last time two brothers were together on the podium of the main category had been in 1997 with the Japanese Nobuatsu and Takuma Aoki.
The test was decided in detail. The brothers played in a ferocious dispute until Marc took the best in the final stretch of the race. The result was even more weight to mark Marc’s return to the top after difficult injuries and times.
Alex Márquez is confirmed on stage
Alex Márquez even arrives in Germany in shape to compete, even after having suffered a fracture on the left index finger in ASSEN. The pilot has undergone surgery in Madrid and received a medical release to participate in the phase of this weekend, which maintains the possibility of a new family podium alive.
