The emergency notice of the Elisabetha Randon Institute guarantees the resumption of activities in the regions devastated by the flood
The eight civil society organizations (Osc) who collaborated with the Elisabetha Randon Institute (IER) are in the phase of responsibility for the emergency notice. The document was launched in December last year to support the entities affected by the floods of May 2024 in the Valleys of Campane and CaĆ. With the funds made possible by the pro-social program, managed by the State Secretariat for Pooperative Development (SEATS), the total amount transmitted was $ 769.6 thousand, intended for Randoncorp through ICM.
The investment was directed to the acquisition of equipment, furniture and materials for the renovation of the physical spaces of the institutions. The aim of the announcement was to guarantee the continuity of care in the living service mode and strengthening (SCFV), which offers educational, cultural and strengthening of the community to children and adolescents in socially vulnerable situations.
Each organization has received up to $ 100,000 to recompose its own infrastructure. An example is the Medianeira Center, of San Leopoldo, which had its completely flooded headquarters. The water has reached almost four meters in height, with signs still visible on the roofs. All the furniture was lost in the disaster. The entity offers daily assistance to around 356 children and teenagers with music, judo, bakery, computers, sewing, garden, among others.
During a technical visit from Team Ier to the scene, the director Renata Rodrigues spoke of the second half. “It is as if we had zero all our existence in this neighborhood, where we have worked since 2009. Seeing the reconstructed and full space again, with furniture and equipment, is like starting our history,” he said.
The visit is part of the monitoring of the actions envisaged in the notice as the period of execution by the entities is from March to July. Therefore, the visit is part of the process to guarantee the compliments of the rules provided. The Mediaeira Center received the coordinator of social responsibility Ier Jeanine Pacholski, the accounting of the Maristela Pellin organization, as well as the head of the pro-social division of the state government, Gisa Nunez.
In addition to the Mediaeira Center, the following organizations have been contemplated by the notice:
ā ACCS Mother Regina Social Center – Novo Hamburg;
ā Leopoldo work club – SĆ£o Leopoldo;
ā Lenon Joel da Paz Institute – SĆ£o Leopoldo;
ā Niterói Charity Assistance Association – Canoas;
ā Cultural and charitable association Pinocchio Giardino Infantile – Canoas;

“This partnership between the Institute and the Prosocial is a concrete way to support those who are on the first line of social assistance. We will continue to reconstruct lives and spaces with dignity,” says Randoncorp Social responsibility and director of Ier, Maurin Randon Barbosa.
The pro-social program encourages collaboration between society, Osc and state government for the development of impact social projects, through tax incentives through ICMS. The initiative gives priority to the actions aimed at inclusion, food safety, qualification, generation of income and strengthening the community. The announced announcement was carried out in collaboration with the Elisabetha Randon Institute and the Department of Inclusion Members -productive and Special Projects of Siteres. Randoncorp is one of the 21 companies that support most of the resources to the program through tax incentives. The Ier and the secretariat of social development have been a partner since 2008.
