After Little Odessa, Yards and The Night Belongs to Us, James Gray abandons mafia stories – his favorite subject at the heart of his previous films – in favor of a love story. Upon release in theaters, two lovers It enjoys great critical success in France, to the point where it finds itself in Cahiers du Cinéma’s year-end “tops”. It was also nominated for a César in the Best Foreign Film category.
