Viva receives double recognition from the CDP for its performance against climate change

The company’s sustainable initiatives distinguished themselves last year

Vivo received double recognition from the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), a non -profit organization that is a reference for investors that evaluate data on environmental issues.

The company was described in the “list” of the institution for its commitment for environmental transparency and acting to combat climate change.

Furthermore, for the fifth consecutive year, Vivo is part of “a list” supplier engagement assessment (Sea), which evaluates companies based on governance performance, objectives, flowering emissions and the commitment of the value chain.

“CDP awards show the transparency and commitment of Vivo to actively act in reducing emissions and involvement of its value chain in this important process. Although it is a complex and stimulating task, it is essential for us effectively to face current climatic challenges,” says Joans Ribas, director of Vivo sustainability.

Among the initiatives developed alive there is the carbon program in the supplier chain, which involves 125 high -intensity carbon suppliers of different segments, such as electronic equipment, networks, materials and services) and logistics.

The company allows these suppliers, offers free consultancy and support in the preparation of the inventory, in the management of emissions and in the climatic objectives. In addition, Viva also proposes to take commitments and objectives of decarbonisation.

Viva managed to double the percentage of climatic operating companies, closing the year 2024 with 87% of them engaged in decarbonisation initiatives. Together, they represent over 80% of their emissions in the context so called 3.

The largest purpose of the company is that of zero net emissions by 2035. For this reason, the company structures its environmental initiatives in an action plan for climate with short, medium and long terms validated by science.

Between 2015 and 2023, Vivo reduced its emissions of 90% and maintained the index last year, due to the use of 100% renewable energy, use of electric and biocarbulating vehicles in the fleet, as well as the operational efficiency of the equipment in central buildings, buildings and transmission structures.

The emissions that society cannot avoid are compensated for projects for the conservation or regeneration of the Amazon rainforest.
