Actor Giancarlo Esposito (of “Better Call Saul” and “The Boys”) revealed over the weekend at Texas Comic Con that he was talking to Marvel Studios executives. Esposito didn’t say if he would strike a deal on any of the studio’s projects, but he did mention a few characters that fans have mentioned in relation to him.
“I haven’t worked for Marvel yet. I met them and talked to them,” Esposito said, highlighting the meeting officially. “There has been talk of Magneto, Mister Cold [da DC]Victor von Doom [o Dr. Destino] and also Professor X “.
After the reveal, the audience at the event asked the actor to choose one of these characters and he said he preferred something “a little different, Professor X”.
The only certainty, besides the unveiled meeting, is that the actor already works with Disney on “The Mandalorian”, which would facilitate his inclusion in phase 5 or 6 of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe).
But it’s worth remembering that Esposito’s quote to an X-Men character comes shortly after Taron Egerton also confirmed a meeting with Marvel. The “Rocketman” star was even more explicit in the content of these conversations, revealing that he would be the one to take on the role of Wolverine.
