If, in the first two films, Hook Killer responded to the name of Ben Willis (Muse Watson), this new Opus decides to move the franchise fans by moving the lines.
Be careful, spoilers! The rest of this article reflects important elements of the film.
As in the original, a group of friends – Ava, Danika, Milo, Teddy and Steve – provokes an accident on the road. A driver named Sam Cooper loses control of the car and falls into a rock. During the final confrontation, viewers find that there are no murder managers except for one of the members of the group, Stevie – performed by Sarah Pijion.
The character received a love story with Sam Cooper. Through a monologue, we learn that Steve did not know about his identity during the drama and that he wanted to take revenge against those who wanted to erase all traces of an accident.
Wonder
But that’s not all! Steve worked with his companion. The latter turns out to be the first movie, Ray (Freddie Prince Junior.). This is the first time the slasher in the franchise, which the survivor played the role of the killer.
After the shock shock, Ray explains his motivations: he criticizes the city of Southport – which has become a bourgeois city – for the desire to delete the events of 1997. Still traumatized by his past, Ray refuses that his history is neglected. When he learned about Steve’s drama, he is inspired by fishermen’s crimes to help him revenge.
Explaining the star of the movie
In the distribution interview, Freddie Princess Junior reveals how he arrested such an evolution of his character: “It was a big challenge for me and I wanted something like that. Imagining that the character that I know well may be so low, it was interesting to play. It is difficult to play a broken man. This requires a lot of insecurity, introspection and items that are not pleasing. “
He continues: “When you are at work, it is perfect. But when you go home alone, you are still inhabited by these thoughts and feelings. So it was a little more delicate, at least it was for me, but I wouldn’t change it in the world. It was the opportunity to live.“
As for the director, Jennifer Kaitin Robinson, she explains that the idea was presented with Freddie Princess Jr. ”I didn’t want to make half the size. I wanted to try something bold and take risks. “
