New film by Zach Gregge, director of brutal nights, won the first reactions of international critics
Described as a horror epic with multiple interconnected stories, The Time of Evilnew movie Zach Gregger (Brutal nights) gained the first reactions of international criticism, being compared to the narrative of pulp Fictionfrom Tarantino Quentin and regarded as “brilliant”.
What is it about?
“Last night, at 2:17 am, all the children of the Mrs. Gandy class (Julia Garner, Ozark) They woke up, left their beds, opened the doors of their homes and walked at night … and never returned, “says the premise.
The debut of The Time of Evil In Brazil it is scheduled for August 7, 2025. Check out the first reactions:
Zach Cregger created a horror masterpiece-and the best movie of the year-with evil time! It is like the suspects (prisoners) mixed with magnolia, with touches of the coen brothers’ absurd mood. An absolutely brilliant comment on attitudes and institutions during the consequences of a collective tragedy. Destructive sensationalism, our obsession with understanding why, the tendency to point out guilty and to get to the irrelevant end up preventing us from being productive and finding solutions – which makes the abnormal end up … normal. It is a chilling class of suspense and narrative from a point of view, which exposes a society with a smaller and smaller empathy that can tolerate inhuman acts.
I am obsessed. This is one of those movies that I won’t be able to forget!

Evil time is absolutely terrifying and consolidates Zach Cregger as a powerful voice in modern horror and a master of mystery. I don’t remember the last time a movie gave me goose bumps. Extremely well structured and executed with a talented cast. Prepare-really. #Ahoradomal

Evil time was one of my favorite 2025 movies for much of the screening – until the final act knocked you down some steps, and I’m sure I won’t be the only one to feel it. Still, Zach Cregger once again proves that he has a gift to create amazing atmospheres, using punctual scares with great impact. Definitely more ambitious than brutal nights in virtually every aspect, the film builds a central mystery told by multiple perspectives, which remained curious and totally involved in finding out what happened to this specific youth group in a small town. Although the final answer is not as satisfactory as I expected, the thematic comment about looking at the general picture versus the details, coupled with the technical skill and the strong performances, makes this one of the most striking horror movies of the year.
Weapons Was One of My Favorite Films of 2025 For Most of Its Runtime, Until the Final Act Brought It Down a Few NotCHES, and I’m Sure I Won’t Be Alone in That Feeling. Evil Time is a real delight: a disturbing and funny movie with sharp cast that adopts a narrative approach to La Magnolia, Pulp Fiction and Short Cuts to release an unforgettable suburban nightmare. The large end made me laugh with perverse pleasure. #Ahoradomal
Weapons is an absolute blast: Creepy, Funny Ensemble Piece That Takes a Magnolia/Pulp Fiction/Short Cuts Storytelling Approach to Unleash to Memoral Suburban Nightmare. The Grand Finale Had Me Cackling with Twisted Glee. #WEAPONSMOVIEpic.twitter.com/n4lzsjxpml
