In a statement by advisory, Roberto Medina reinforced the story and thanked Ozzy and Queen, another band that also signed the contract before the others. He said:
“In an age where international music was not even a presence in Brazil, Ozzy Osborne was the first name, alongside Queen, to accept our madness to play Rock in Rio. This was emblematic and worked that everything would work out. It helped us put Rio de Janeiro in the spotlight of the world.”

In the early days of Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne did not come to Brazil to perform. It was a much more complicated time to travel, so much so that in the 1970s the legendary heavy metal band only ran through North America and Europe, with very sporadic tours through Oceania. In addition, our country was also not the destination of almost any international attraction.
The premiere on national soil was only during the solo career, but it was in style. Ozzy He was the first artist to sign a contract for the first edition of the Rock in Rio Festival, held in January 1985 in Rio de Janeiro. Accompanied by Jake E. Lee (guitar), Bob Daisley (low), Tommy Aldridge (battery) and Don Airey (keyboards), he touched on the 16th and 19th, sharing stage with Rod Stewart, AC/DC, Scorpions, Whitesnake, Rita Leebetween others.
At the time, the information that Osbourne He had the curious habit of biting bat heads on shows – something that actually only happened once, in 1982, and just because he thought the animal was a toy thrown by a fan. Therefore, the so -called “Prince of Darkness” would have been forced to guarantee in a contract that it would not hurt any animals during the presentation.
Interestingly, some Brazilian fan managed to throw a chicken on stage during the first show at Rock in Rio. The end, well, was happier: the bird was removed after circular bewildered for a while. Ozzy Osbourne’s death
The cause of the death was not disclosed. However, it is known that the singer’s health had been weakened for years due to a number of health problems-including Parkinson, whose diagnosis was revealed to the public in 2020.
In a press release sent to the press, the artist’s family stated:
“It’s more sadly than words can express that we have to report that our dear Ozzy Osbourne passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded with love.”
Then he added:
“We ask everyone to respect our family’s privacy at this time.”
