Cinemazita Carvalhosa, creator of the Kinoforum Short Festival, dies at 65

Film Producer and Creator of the Kinoforum Short Festival, Zita Carvalhosa Died last Tuesday (22), in São Paulo, at the age of 65. The wake is scheduled to start at 10am, extending until 16h, at the Brazilian Cinematheque (Largo Senador Cardoso, 207, in Vila Clementino), in São Paulo.

Graduated in Cinema at Universade Paris III, France, the filmmaker began her career as a producer at Superfilmes in 1983, five years before assuming the curatorship of the São Paulo Museum of Image and Sound (MIS), developing a program returns to the dissemination of short films.

This led her to, in 1989, to create the Kinoforum International Short Festival, which was under her direction for 35 years, evolving to become a platform for gathering filmmakers, curators and programmers from around the world.
