Online since August 5 on Netflix, the Sandman series immediately delighted subscribers. Adapted from Neil Gaiman’s work and long considered unsuitable, Sandman probably needed to go through the series format to better expand its story and set its dreamlike and terrifying world.
The Dream Merchant, or Morpheus, or Dream, is played by Tom Sturridge, who seems born to embody this extraordinary character, an anthropomorphic personification of an elusive concept. He carries his spleen with a very British elegance and learns (perhaps) to be more in touch with his emotions when interacting with people.
This ten-episode season is like a crazy ride between the dream world and the waking world, passing through various realms, including the Underworld, led by the iron fist of Lucifer Morningstar (Gwendoline Christie). Visually, these are the unreal worlds they suggest, somewhere between dreams and nightmares.

#sandman It is a series to be watched immediately. A masterclass in both execution and visuals that pays homage to the original comic. With Neil Gaiman, it’s certified! @NetflixFR When is the Batman series directed by Paul Dean and Bruce Timm?

crazy!!
Ultra-modern production, top-notch special effects, impeccable casting… we think of Harry Potter, The Matrix, Constantine, American God. #Amazon Premium, but even better!
I have been waiting for such a series for a long time.

I read so much toxic crap about the SANDMAN series. It calls out a lack of respect for the original work (gender/sexuality/skin color) without knowing/realizing that the comics offer many LGBTQA+ characters and that Neil Gaiman (the author) is working on this adaptation. pic.twitter.com/pYEHl3yXJf

Episode 6 #sandman Very different from before…
We move from an episode of pure horror to one of great beauty and truly disturbing. I almost cried damn it.
Death is the best character so far and Kirby Howell-Baptiste portrays him so emotionally…— Etahas (@Etahas2) August 7, 2022
