“Minions 2” remains the box office leader in Brazil





“Minions 2: The Rise of Gru” remains the most watched movie in Brazilian theaters for the third consecutive weekend. Universal’s production attracted nearly 220,000 people and raised BRL 4.29 million between Thursday and Sunday (8/7), according to a Comscore poll. As a result, it exceeded R $ 100 million in receipts in Brazil.

Since its debut in late June, the animated sequel has only been surpassed on two occasions, roughly around the time of the release of “Thor: Love and Thunder”.

The Marvel production, among other things, maintained its 2nd place also for the third week, earning another 3.8 million R $ with 185 thousand admissions.

In 3rd place was the premiere of “Bullet Train”, an action thriller starring Brad Pitt, which grossed BRL 3.78 million with an audience of 168,000.

The other debut production of the week, the national comedy “O Palestrante”, starring Fábo Porchat and Dani Calabresa, only entered 7th place.

Overall, the 10 most viewed films of the weekend earned R $ 20.6 million and brought 979,000 people to Brazilian cinemas. Check out the list of the most viewed titles below.
