A Better Life Preview: Tuesday August 9, 2022 Episode Summary [SPOILERS]

The police station called Rochat and informed him that the body had been found. Emma and Kevin are already at the quarry watching the police search the area when he arrives. Cesar’s uncle is still unaware that they have found the young man’s ID and is far from imagining that the worst has happened.

He refuses and is convinced that Caesar is alive and well. Moments later, Ariane reveals to Rochat that the body found is indeed Cesar’s. He bursts into tears in the arms of upset Emma.

A few hours later, Camille is given an audience by Patrick and Jean-Paul, but the young woman refuses to cooperate and is walled in silence. Two police officers try to convince him to talk, to no avail. They are desperate to get information from him.

Meanwhile, while he is in the process of investigating the potential site of another fire outbreak, Baptiste receives a message informing him of Caesar’s death. Even though he wasn’t really friends with her, he’s still shocked by this terrible news. She decides to call Emma and Barbara, but Justin tries to convince her to go to them in person, to no avail. A young firefighter prefers to call them.

At Mistral, Rochat, Emma and Barbara meet in March to pay their respects to Cesar. With tears in his eyes, the young man’s uncle confides to Emma that Caesar loved her passionately. The latter is very upset. Rochat regrets not worrying about Cesare’s disappearance sooner, but it wouldn’t change anything for Emma.

He also remembers that before leaving, his nephew told him that he loved him. It was the first and last time Caesar said these words to him. On the other hand, Barbara regrets not being able to say goodbye to him. The transported Rochat then grabs the two young women.

Back at the police station, Nebut and Boher decide to change their method and bring Emma into the interrogation room. He tries to convince his little sister to talk to the police, if only for the victims and their relatives. Faced with his silence, Emma urges Camille to free herself from Jacob. He also explains that if he decides to cooperate, the judge will take that into account.

But Camille no longer trusts herself or Kevin. Even if Emma explains to her that they did it for her own good, the young woman continues to believe that he is lying to her. He is convinced that Kevin and Emma did everything to get rid of him.

That’s when Camille shows her true colors: she falls on Emma and starts choking her, telling her that she deserves to be punished. Patrick immediately intervenes and separates the two young girls. Restrained by a police officer, Camille continues to scream at Emma and vows to kill her.

As Olivier Jourdan leaves the police station, he meets Major Nebut, who informs him that he is not going to let him go. But the cult leader is happy that their paths will cross again in the future. Jourdan thinks Patrick deserves to be returned to live in society.

However, the latter manages to escape from the guru and criticizes Olivier for taking advantage of his dark period to indoctrinate him. Jordan continues to provoke the policeman, reminding him of his wife and daughter, who has a knack for annoying Patrick, who loses his temper.

A fire breaks out in Simon’s barn. The day before, he and Eric drank beer and left the bottles in the haystack. Together with the sun, they made a magnifying effect that caused the fire. As they try to put it out, they realize that their neighbor’s mallard has moved the water again. Fortunately, thanks to the water left in the horse’s bucket, they manage to control this burst of fire before it gets too big.

Eric then suggests that Simon leave for a while and come back after the drought is over, but the farmer is unable to leave his farm. He needs a livelihood and also needs to be there if something happens. Simon admits to his companion that he no longer has insurance due to lack of funds.

Eric and Simon then decide to go to the neighbor’s house to talk to him. Eric pressures Mallard to stop carrying the water, but the old man threatens them with a gun, ending the discussion.

Eric went back to Marseilles to buy fire extinguishers. He then meets Ariane at the Mistral Bar, who explains to him that she is worried about him because of the fires raging in the region.

Back at the farm, Eric and Simon place fire extinguishers in strategic locations. Just then Mark, Simon’s ex, suddenly arrives. The latter had an argument with her boyfriend and not knowing where to go, she went to ask Simon for help to find a place to stay. The farmer reluctantly agrees to stay with her for a few days.

Romain and Vanessa meet again and decide to settle down on Mars Terrace. Sylvia doesn’t take her eyes off them, which makes them uncomfortable. They decide to leave and go to a Latino bar to rub their hips. Vanessa and Romain share their first kiss.

After that, Dr. Vidal took the young woman home. As they kiss at her door, someone is watching them outside the window. Romain wishes he could invite her home, but he explains to her that it won’t be possible. The two lovers plan to meet again the next day.
