The Kremlin says that “Trump’s statement” took a note at the shortest deadline for the ceasefire in Ukraine

Tuesday the Kremlin said he had “taken note” of a declaration by the President of the United States Donald Trump who was shortening the deadline for Moscow to sign a ceased in Ukraine or face penalties.

Trump has set a new deadline on Monday, 10 or 12 days, so that Russia progresses to end the war in Ukraine or will face the consequences, highlighting the frustration with President Vladimir Putin about the conflict of 3 and a half years.

Tuesday on Trump’s declaration during a journalistic teleconference, the Kremlin kept his short comments.

“Yesterday we took note of the declaration of President Trump. Continue special military operations,” said the Cremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, using the term that Moscow uses for his war effort in Ukraine.

“We are still engaged in a peace process to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and to guarantee our interests during this agreement.”

Trump threatened, on July 14, to impose new penalties for Russia and the buyers of their exports within 50 days, a deadline that would have expired in early September.

But on Monday, during a visit to the United Kingdom, he abbreviated this deadline and said: “There is no reason to wait … we don’t just see progress.”

Trump, who made half a dozen calls with the Cremlin leader since he returned to the White House in January, also declared “he was no longer so interested in speaking”.

Peskov refused to talk about this comment.
