Ford expands the production in Argentina and will bring new versions of Ranger to Brazil

With an additional investment of 222 million dollars, Ford Factory producing the Ranger pickup in Argentina will make simple versions of the cabin and frame

The Ranger line will soon be larger in Brazil. Ford announced last Monday 29, the expansion of investments in the Pacheco factory (Argentina), to increase the production and launch of new versions of the Ranger pickup in South America. This includes versions with simple cabin and frame for the commercial segment.

The new contribution will be $ 40 million, which collects $ 700 million (about 3.9 billion dollars) the total invested in the Argentine plant for the launch of the new generation of the pickup, which took place by 2023. According to Ford, the increase will allow a production volume of over 80 thousand units per year.

This number represents a 30% growth compared to 2024 and 45% more than the launch year, a historical record in the production of Ranger. About 50% of the volume of the factory is intended for Brazil, the main pickup market, followed by Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Paraguay and Uruguay. In 2024, Ranger’s sales grew by about 60%. This year, the growth in the first half was 25%.

The investment will also allow the arrival of new ranger settings, including simple versions of cabins and frames, presented last year in Fenatran. Currently, the pickup is offered only in double cabin versions. To produce the current ranger, the Pacheco factory has received improvements between 2021 and 2023, including new intelligent tools and robots in the press and bodywork areas.

“The customer’s response has passed our more optimistic expectations and pushes us to take one more step to feed the local and regional question,” says Martín Galdeano, president of Ford Argentina and South America. “With this new investment not only do we increase Ranger’s production capacity to a historical record, but we also expanded its offer with the simple and long booth version.”
