Atletico has shown a strong dissatisfaction with the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) after the postponement of the appeal of the attacker Dudu. The session, which was scheduled for Thursday morning (31 July), was suspended due to the health problems of the auditor Antonieta da Silva, preventing the continuity of the trial.
The club player and the club director, Paulo Bracks, were present at the field headquarters in Rio de Janeiro, but left the scene without a definitive response. Atletico, with official note, protested against the decision and indicated that the defense of Dudu will present a new request for suspensive effect. According to the club, “the athlete and the rooster cannot stand the burden generated by Stjd himself”.
This is not the first time that the legal department has tried to reverse the punishment imposed on the attacker. Dudu has already been suspended for six games and fined $ 90,000 for the statements made in January, when he responded to the president of Palmeiras, Leila Pereira, on social networks. In addition to the sports impact, the club questioned the conduct of the process. Dudu’s defense supports the partiality in the execution of the speaker of the first instance, Renata Mendonça, who would have published a photo in his social networks next to Leila Pereira’s lawyers before the initial judgment. “This gesture compromises the impartiality of the magistrate and questioned the smoothness of the trial,” said the defense in the protocol document.
Another line of topic disputes the competence of the Stjd to judge the case, since Dudu’s statements have been made outside the sports context. The legitimacy of the Union of Brazilian women as part of the process has also been questioned, under the justification that the entity does not integrate the official sports system.
For now, Dudu is unable to act and will be absence in the imminent athletic commitments, including the match against Flamengo on Thursday (31 July), at 9:30 pm (GMT), for the 16 of the Brazilian cup 16. Depending on the new date of the process, it can also subtract the team against Bragantino on Sunday (August 3), and possibly in the comparison against the Cariocas.
