Even with one less, Coritiba wins Vila Nova and takes the Serie B command

Coritiba won a heroic victory in Serie B of the Brazilian championship. Even with one player less for most of the game, the team beat Vila Nova 2-1. The game took place on Thursday (31) in Goiânia. With the result, Coritiba takes on the provisional leadership of Serie B, with 38 points, while Vila Nova pays at 27 points and can lose the ninth position.

The game

The first half, in fact, was full of events and a lot of emotion. Coritiba has opened the markings with a goal against Tiago Paggnussat. Shortly thereafter, however, Vila Nova drew to a penalty kick Dodo. To complicate the situation of the thigh, the midfielder was expelled after 29 minutes.

Even with the huge numerical disadvantage in the field, the visiting team has not fallen. Paraná’s team even managed to mark the goal that would have defined the victory. The final whistle, in short, sealed a spectacular result for Coritiba. The victory with an less player shows the great strength of the team in the struggle for access. For Vila Nova, however, it is the enormous frustration. The team could not enjoy the numerical advantage by playing in their domains.
