In a statement, Michelle said she received the news with “indignation and profound sadness” and ranked the episode as “shameful”.

“On a mission in Pará, I received with indignation and profound sadness the news of the involvement and arrest of a relative because they were found, on his mobile phone, images containing childish pornography. It is a shameful crime, not only for its gravity, but mainly because the human digesty of children and teenagers is profound,” he said.
He also said he had no close relationship with his uncle for over 18 years. “My pain is more very precise because I dedicate my life to combat firm to all types of sexual crimes and abuse against children. For over eighteen years, I have not been close to or coexisting with the relative investigated, despite the existing biological bond,” he said.
Michelle repudiated the conduct of her uncle and defends full punishment if the accusations are confirmed: “I consider the conduct of this relative and, once these accusations, I understand if necessary, the weight of justice, with the punishments and sanctions provided for a deplorable crime”.
The former First Lady has also rejected any attempt to associate its name with the case.
Gilberto Firmo was arrested on Friday 1, during compliance with a search mandate and convulsions issued by the Court of Justice of Goiás. The Federal District Civil Police found a vast pedophilia material on his mobile, making the arrest of the law. The connection between the crimes investigated and the Goiás state is not yet clarified. Gilberto received a provisional release after a custody audience.
