The American soldier is arrested for trying to share information on tanks with Russia

A soldier from the United States army was arrested on Wednesday for presumably attempted to approve confidential information on US tanks to the Russian government, said the United States Department of Justice.

Taylor Adam Lee, 22 years old, an active soldier crowded in Fort Bliss, Texas, is the goal of two federal accusations for presumably attempted to transmit national defense information and technical data controlled export without a license, indicate judicial documents.

“Today’s arrest is a message for anyone who is thinking of betraying the United States, in particular the members of the service that have sworn to protect our homeland. The FBI and our partners will do everything within our reach to protect the Americans and safeguard the confidential information,” said deputy director Roman Rozhavsky of the FBI counterintegration division in a note.

Lee has not yet commented on the accusations, presented to the United States district court for the western district of Texas. The information on Lee’s lawyer was not immediately available.

The accusation accuses Lee, who has an Ultra -Secret security permit to try to share information on the operation and vulnerabilities of M1A2 Abrams, the main American war tank, with the Russian government in exchange for Russian citizenship.

Last month, Lee shared an SD card that contained documents and information on the tank and other US military operations with someone who believed was a Russian intelligence officer. The documents contained technical data that Lee was not allowed to provide and some were marked as “controlled information”, according to ministries.

“The soldiers who violate their oath and become internal threats will be absolutely captured and brought to court, and we will continue to protect the army staff and protect the equipment,” said the general of the Brigade Sean Stinchon, general commander of the Contractial Command army.
