Gossip Girl, the terror of the Upper East Side’s golden youth, is coming back soon! TFX has just announced that the first season of the sequel to the cult series will air on Friday, September 2 at 9.05pm.
Created by Joshua Safran, producer and screenwriter of the original series, and executive produced by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, behind the first adaptation, Gossip Girl Next Generation takes us back to the heart of New York’s upscale neighborhoods and follows us. A new generation of students from Constance Billard and St. Jude private high schools, eight years after the famous blog closed.
The teenagers then find themselves the target of the all-knowing eye of an anonymous blogger who has returned to work and is determined to reveal their secrets.
Whoever says new generation, definitely means new actors. Emily Ellen Lind (Nanny, Revenge), Thomas Doherty (Legacy), Tavi Gevinson, Ellie Brown (Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists), Whitney Peake (The Horrible Adventures of Sabrina), Jordan Alexander (Sacred Lies), Evan Mock, Zion Moreno (Control Z) and Savannah Smith will camp with members of this new group of high school students.
This Season 1 of Gossip Girl New Generation was also marked by the return of many iconic characters that marked the original series. Kristen Bell will once again provide the voice of the famous blogger, while Margaret Collin (Eleanor Waldorf), Wallace Shawn (Cyrus Rose) and Zuzana Shadkowski (Dorota Kieslowski) will make notable cameos.
Season 1 of Gossip Girl New Generation will consist of 12 episodes, airing every Friday night starting September 2nd with 3 new episodes. For the most impatient, the season is now available in its entirety on MyTF1 MAX.
