Cinema “The Hour of Evil”, fear materializes in unexpected and disturbing ways

After the praised brutal nights, Zach Cregger reinforces his identity and way of doing terror with well -tied narrative

Known for Brutal nightsthe filmmaker Zach Cregger It’s back withThe Time of Evilwhich reaches Brazilian theaters with 100% approval of international criticism. In the news, 17 children leave their homes exactly at 2:17 am at a seemingly common Wednesday and mysteriously disappear, leaving the local community full of questions.

For the teacher Justine Gandy (Julia Garner, Fantastic Four: First Steps), the situation is even worse: all children were part of their class at school, so all eyes turn against her, who is accused of being involved in the disappearance. From there, what follows is two hours of a perfect terror.

Even if it is not adept at the word “perfect” when classifying a movie – as this suggests impeccable execution in every respect and, honestly, it rarely happens – it must be recognized that Zach Cregger It comes very close to this perfection.

Divided into chapters, which show the views of different characters, the filmmaker, also responsible for the novelty script, unveils the mystery with parsimony. With comings and goings in the narrative, he explore psychological thriller and supernatural terror that talk on the screen without damaging the final product.

Creeger Still mixes deeply real fears – the dark, rejection, the unknown – with terror and drama, taking the plot from the obvious. It is not as clear when and how some scares will happen, and even more trained terror fans should have difficulty, which makes the moments of tension impressive and satisfactory, and make the heart accelerate.

The Time of EvilIt’s a story Stephen Kingone of the great masters of terror. In many moments of the movie, the experience of IT: The Thingeven for its similarities: a seemingly quiet, but sanking city. However, unlike the stories of KingDon’t expect a disappointing ending: bordering on Galhofa, the ending is as frightening as it is funny, and contemplates one of the most interesting film experiences of the year.
