CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, David Zaslav, has announced that the new TV series of “Harry Potter” will be a 10 -year project at HBO Max, going beyond the initial format of seven seasons based on the books of JK Rowling, according to information from Information Collider.
The first season, currently in London and on the surrounding production, is scheduled for 2027 and will present eight episodes, partially directed by the winner of the Brazilian photographic director Adriano Goldman (“The Crown”, “Andor” and “Jane Eyre”).
Goldman will take care of the first two and the last two episodes and will describe production as “monumental”, highlighting the 18 weeks of pre-production dedicated to the construction of permanent scenarios for Hogwarts, Rua Dos Alfeneiros and other iconic places.
Confirmed cast
The main cast presents Dominic McLaughlin in the role of Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout like Ron Weasley. Veterans include John Lithgow (Dumbledore), Paapa Essiedu (Snape), Janet Mcter (McGonagall), Nick Frost (Hagrid) and Daniel Rigby and Bel Powley (Uncle Válter and Aunt Petunia), as well as other prominent names.
