The time to say goodbye to the Thirteenth Doctor is fast approaching… NRJ12 has just revealed that the new 13th season of Doctor Who will air every Wednesday night at 9.10pm starting August 31st.
Still directed by Chris Chibnall, this new burst of episodes will mark a new turning point in the iconic series as it will be Jodie Whittaker’s last after three years on the TARDIS. The actress, who made history by being the first woman to step into the shoes of the mythical Doctor, did indeed announce in July 2021 that this 13th season would be her last.
In this new round of episodes, the Time Lord and his companions will face a new antagonist who may wreak havoc on the series by bringing back previously defeated foes.
From Liverpool to the far reaches of space, the Crimean War, and a planet called Atropos that shouldn’t even exist, battling ancient enemies and creatures from unknown dimensions, the Doctor and his companions find themselves racing (and through) time to discover a mystery that spans the universe: what is the flow?
Consisting of 8 episodes, the 13th season of Doctor Who will also be followed by 3 special episodes that cross between Jodie Whittaker and her replacement, played by Nkuti Gatwa (Sex Education).
The first, titled Eve of the Daleks, aired on the BBC on January 1, while the second, Legend of the Sea Devils, aired in April 2022. As for Jodie Whittaker’s latest episode celebrating. In the 300 series, it should be offered next October. As of now, NRJ12 is yet to announce when it will air these special episodes.
See you every Wednesday night on NRJ12 from 31 August at 9.10pm to discover the new 13th season of Doctor Who.
