The Trump government says that George Washington University has violated the law in relation to Jewish students and teachers

Tuesday the Trump government declared that he discovered that the George Washington University (GWU) violated the federal law on civil rights in relation to Jewish, American and Israeli Jewish students and teachers and will seek “immediate repair” of the institution.

In a declaration, the United States Department of Justice said that GWU has agitated deliberately indifferent to the hostile educational environment for Jewish, Israeli-American and Israeli students “during the Filosinese protests of April and May 2024. Dhillon said that the Department of Justice intends to proceed with the police, but offers university the opportunity to resolve the question through a voluntary resolution agreement. The University has until August 22 to indicate if it has “interest in this dialogue”, according to the letter.

George Washington is the last university that was targeted by the Trump administration, who threatened to cut federal funds to universities due to pro-Palestinian protests against the war in Gaza conducted by Israel, a country of ally of a country.

The demonstrators, including some Jewish groups, say that the Trump government erroneously equals criticisms of the Israeli military attack in Gaza and the occupation of the Palestinian territories to antimitism and the defense of Palestinian rights for support for extremism.
