A Peruvian judge ordered the preliminary detention of Martín Vizcarra on Wednesday, the fifth former president to be held behind the bars while he was faced with a trial on charges of receiving bribes when he had been a regional leader for over a decade.
At the hearing, judge Jorge Chávez imposed five months in pre -pre -Vizcarra detention, who is accused of having received bribes from construction companies equivalent to 640,000 dollars in exchange for public works in the Makegua region during his period as governor between 2011 and 2014.
