Morbius could have come out in Blade with Wesley Snipes, which came out 25 years ago! But why expel the famous Marvel vampire from the movie?
What if Blade met Morbius 25 years ago? Both characters are Marvel vampires, somehow it made sense to see their confrontation.
This is an idea that was released on November 18, 1998 in France by Blade director Stephen Norrington. Katana.
The director, who was already reviewing the second part, filmed an alternative ending with a presentation by Morbius. The latter must have been the big bad of Blade II, directed by Norrington.
In this scene, a Wornley Snipes-camped junkie warns of the arrival of a bad boy next to her, Karen, played by N’Bushe Wright. This blow was taken but was not ultimately saved in the final cut.
Indeed, despite the film’s success, Stephen Norrington was released from the sequel project in favor of Guillermo del Toro. David S. Goyer, Blade’s screenwriter, explained in the feature film bonuses that this scene was thrown in the trash when the team learned that Norrington was leaving the saga.
The director had plans for Morbius, but we will never know where he would take the character. One way or another, it seems the artist liked this vampire so much that he himself played it in this alternate ending.
Then the question arises. Can Morbius, camped by Jared Leto, look to the next Blade explained by Mahershala Ali? At the moment this is impossible as they are evolving into two different worlds.
Morbius is part of the same universe as Venom (Sony) and Blade is integrated into Marvel’s cinematic universe. However, we are not insured to see them collide with the possibilities offered by the multi-world, as seen in Spider-Man No Way Home and as suggested in the Morbius post-credit scenes.
