Before arriving at streaming, the film underwent prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Toronto, San Sebastián and the São Paulo International Film Festival, arriving in Brazil with distribution of Michiko Filmes.
Filmicca is a national and independent streaming of authorial and cult cinema, from classic to contemporary, with weekly releases, including unpublished, exclusive and major festivals works. With a collection that brings together productions from different countries and times, the platform released its weekly list of the five most watched titles. 1 Winter sun (2024)
After traveling prestigious film festivals around the world, Hiroshi Okuyama’s winter sun (2024) arrived in Filmicca and quickly reached first place among the most watched films since its debut on August 8. Selected for the UN Right Regard show at the Cannes Festival, the feature received from criticism of the nickname “hidden jewelry”.
Inspired by the song “Boku no Ohisama” (“My Sunshine”), by Folk duo Humbert Humbert, Okuyama narrates in this, which is the second feature of his career, the story of little Takuya (Keitatsu Koshiyama). At 9, the boy pity to accompany the other colleagues, enthusiastic about the winter hockey training. Although it doesn’t take much way to the sport, Takuya discovers on the skating rink something even more exciting when watching the graceful choreography of young Sakura (Kiara Takanashi).
2nd Videophobia (2019)

Her sudden horror of the video triggers a descendant spiral where she loses all social aspects. Filmed in magnificent black and white, reminiscent of Chris Marker, Miyazaki addresses sexual abuse on the Internet, spreading the extremely traumatic effects of a crime that fractures reality in a society under constant surveillance.
3rd The Solar of Night Pleasures (2024)
Third is the Brazilian short film The Solar dos Prazeres Night (2024), directed by Matheus Marchetti. With a plot that mixes terror and suspense, the work is starring Bruno Germano, Anna Preto, Tuna Dwek, Natan Cardoso, Natt Mazzoni and Vinícius Precomoma.
The plot presents a young man who interviews former child-actor Rodrigo Escher and is attracted to his idol’s nightmare web, full of diabolical secrets and sexual perversions.
Anyone who wants to explore more from Marchetti’s universe finds in Filmicca three other productions of the young filmmaker: The Bosque dos Somnambulos (2017), the wedding of Dracula (2018) and Summer Ghost (2022).
4th Nazarin (1959)
Winner of the Cannes Film International Award, Nazarin (1959), restored and recently debated on the platform, is one of the great works of the Mexican phase of the great director Luis Buñuel, who explores human nature and its cruelty, as well as the boundaries of religion and devotion in this unique film.
The film presents a priest who lives in a vow of poverty, being often passed behind. When he welcomes a prostitute who committed a crime, Nazario infringes the law of men to follow the teachings of Christ and is forced to go out in a pilgrimage inside Mexico. He, who always avoided judging his neighbor, becomes the target of the judgment of others.
5th Scent (1974)
Oscar nominated for the categories of best adapted script and best international film, Dino Risi’s classic Italian classic Perfume (1974) was the fifth most assisted production of the week at Filmicca. The work also earned the protagonist Vittorio Gassman the award for best actor at the Cannes Festival in the year of its launch.
The plot features a temperamental Italian official, retired after being blinded, who travels from Turin to Naples to rediscover an former army companion. With a young student as a guide, they develop a unique relationship of respect and friendship, with the officer leading the boy on a journey in search of women, until he finds a woman from his past.
