On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he expects the agreements reached in his summit with the President of the United States Donald Trump be a launch platform to resolve the conflict in Ukraine and restore the links between Russia and the United States.
“I hope today’s agreements become a point of reference, not only to solve the Ukrainian problem, but also for the restoration of pragmatic and commercial relationships between Russia and the United States,” said Putin.
He said there was enormous potential for both countries to create a commercial partnership and investments in sectors such as energy, technology and exploration of space and in Arctic.
“I have all the reasons to believe that, following this path, we can reach the end of the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible,” he said in a joint press conference in which the leaders did not answer questions.
Putin, however, did not specify what both sides had agreed.
