Cinemadenzel Washington disdaining cancellation culture: ‘Who calls?’

Denzel Washington (MALCOLM X) Remaining attention for his direct posture regarding the debate on cancellation culture. During interview with Complex Newsin publicizing your new movie Highest 2 Lowestfrom Spike Lee (Infiltrated at Klan), the actor was asked if he is afraid to be “canceled”. Without rodeo, he countered:“What does that mean, be canceled? (…) Who calls?”.

Next to the director and frequent employee Spike Lee, Washington reflected on the importance given to public opinion. “What made public support so important in the first place?”He teased.

The reporter Jillian Hardeman-Webb replied that today “followers are currency”But the actor was categorical:“I don’t care who follows who. You cannot lead and follow at the same time. I follow the divine spirit. I follow God, I don’t follow man. I have faith in God. I have hope in man, but look around, it’s not going so well”.

The actor summed up his vision in a sentence: “You cannot be canceled if you have not signed for it. Do not sign.” Leein turn, it completed similarly: “I couldn’t care less”.
