Peter Jackson Wanted Hypnotherapy To Forget The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy

In a podcast, Peter Jackson explained how working for six years on The Lord of the Rings kept him from watching the movies like the rest of the world

Director of the iconic three films of Lord of the Ringsbased on the books of JRR Tolkien, Peter Jackson revealed how he wanted to do hypnotherapy, the therapeutic use of hypnosis, to forget about the nominated and award-winning trilogy Oscar.

During a podcast interview The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatterthe filmmaker explained how he would like to watch the films as a regular fan once they were released, and approached the illusionist Derren Brown to try to help you.

“When we made the films of Lord of the RingsI always felt like the unlucky person who never got to see them as an unexpected movie,” said Jackson. “By the time they were showing, I was immersed in it for five or six years. It was such a loss for me not to be able to see them like everyone else.”

“I actually seriously considered going to a hypnotherapy guy to hypnotize me, to make me forget about the movies and the work I’d done for the last six or seven years so I could sit back and enjoy it,” the director continued. . “I didn’t follow through with it, but I talked to Derren Brown about it and he thought he could do it.”

The series is set to premiere on September 2.
