Minister Alexandre De Moraes of the Supreme Court (Stf) has ordered new measures to strengthen the monitoring of the external area of former president Jair Bolsonaro Residence from the beginning. In his decision, Moraes sent the DF criminal police to conduct face -to -face monitoring outside the residence and currency with the other properties, where there may be exposure to the risk of escape.
In addition to external monitoring, Minister Stf authorized the surveys in the “home and trunk of all vehicles that leave the residence of the defendant”. These surveys, according to the decision, should be documented, with the indication of vehicles, drivers and passengers and who send this information daily to the ASF.
Moraes justified the measures based on the request for the Secretariat of State of the Penitentiary Administration of the Federal District, which indicated the existence of “blind points” not visible from the facade of the residence, which would represent a “risk” of escape.
Last Monday (25/08) Moraes has already determined the reinforcement of the surveillance measures, ordering a permanent presence of the police before the residence.
Tuesday, the Federal Police even asked for permission to monitor the interior of the former president’s house, but the office of the Prosecutor General (PGR) was against the presence of the police within the Bolsonaro residence. However, the PGR has manifested itself in favor of strengthening safety near the residence and entrance of the condominium, which was accepted by the minister.
Next Tuesday (02/09), Bolsonaro and seven allies, who are charged with the core 1 of the plot of the coup, will be tried by the first class of the Stf.
The former president has been in home arrest since the beginning of August, using an electronic ankle. The measure was determined after Alexandre de Moraes understood that the former president violated the precautionary measures that prohibited places on social networks of third parties.
Last week, in another survey, the PF discovered that Bolsonaro had a political asylum document to be presented to the Argentine president, Javier Milei. According to the PF, the document had been saved on the device since 2024.
According to the defense, the document was only a “draft” and the asylum request did not occur. Lawyers also denied the country’s escape attempt.
