Singer continues her honors during the Radical Optimmem tour, now paying tribute to American musicians in their hometown of their hometown

*Text by Althea Legaspi for Rolling Stone USA | Dua Lipa has honored local artists with covers of their biggest hits in their respective cities during their tour Radical Optimize. She continued the tradition in Boston on Tuesday, 9, honoring the Aerosmith with a cover of “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”original hit 1998.

In the first of her two nights at TD Garden, she sang the theme song of the movie Armageddon Next to her band, who surrounded her on stage during the presentation. Watch below.

Last weekend, the artist presented Chicago fans with a double show and a legendary guest surprised. On Friday, 5, Lipa brought the hometown icon, Chaka khan. They presented “Ain’t Nobody”1983 hit by Rock and Roll Hall of Fame singer. On Saturday, 6, the singer presented a faithful version of the classic “Septamber”from the band of Chicago Earth, Wind & Fire.

Dua Lipa began making covers of local legends during a tour of Australia and New Zealand, where he presented versions of songs from the songs AC/DC, Lord and Kylie Minogue. She also surprised the fans with the surprise participation of Troye Sivan, Tame Impala and Neil Finnfrom CrowDed House.

During the European stage of the tour, it performed a version of “Hero”from Enrique Iglesiasin Madrid. At the Wembley Stadium in London, presented “Virtual Insanity”from Jamiroquaiwith the help of the vocalist Jay Kayfrom the band itself. The next night, in the same place, she brought Charli XCX for a version of “360”. In Liverpool, she joined Dave McCabe to play “Valerie”of the Zutons, and in their next show in the cradle of Beatlesplayed “Hey Jude”from FAB FOUR. And in Dublin, she paid tribute to “a song of a deceased Irish legend”, interpreting “Nothing Compares 2 U”from Sinead O’Connor.

DUA LIPA AND THE RADICAL TURN

The tour Radical Optimize From Dua Lipa continues in the United States, with another show at TD Garden in Boston, on Thursday night, 11, before going to Atlanta for two shows. Its stage in the US, which ends in October, includes a four -day season at Madison Square Garden from September 17, and a four -day season at Kia Forum in Los Angeles from October 4th. It goes to South America in November. In Brazil, the commitments take place on November 15 in São Paulo (Morumbis), and November 22 in Rio de Janeiro (Nilton Santos Stadium, Engenhão).
