Novelty will hit theaters in 2026 with Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy and Jack Black back to the Voices Cast
Universal Pictures and Illumination released news about the sequence Super Mario Bros. The movie with the launch of a teaser. The continuation will be officially entitled The Super Mario Galaxy Moviein reference to the game released by Nintendo in 2007 to the Wii, in which Mario travels through different galaxies and planets in search of rescuing Peach, kidnapped by Bowser in a spaceship. In the game’s plot, he has the help of Lumas, little magic stars that have become darling of fans.
In the revealed teaser, we see Mario dozing under a tree until a butterfly lands over him and then flies through the kingdom of the mushroom. The butterfly flight reveals iconic characters from Mario’s universe and culminates in a view of Peach’s castle before crossing the outer space – anticipating the new cosmic adventure.
The cast of voices also returns with weight names. Chris Pratt (JURASSIC WORLD) again interpret the most famous plumber of the games, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy (The witch) As Princess Peach, Charlie Day (Fog Circleo) As Luigi, Jack Black (Jumanji) as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key (Wonka) as toad and Kevin Michael Richardson (Lilo & Stitch) Like Kamek.
When does the news debut?
The animation opens on April 3, 2026, almost three years after the first movie became a box office phenomenon, raising more than $ 1 billion and winning the most global post of an animation in history, with $ 377 million in the first weekend.
