Mariah Carey is back in Brazil. One year after offered the closing performance of the Sunset Stage Rock in Riothe 56 -year -old American singer returns at another festival of the same organizers: The Townnow as the main attraction of Skyline, on Saturday, 13. Mariah Carey’s repertoire choices

The setlist should not be so different compared to Rock in Rio 2024. They change, of course, some songs and orders, but the focus goes on The Emancipation of Mimi (2005), one of his most famous albums and marked by an approximation with hip hop and a certain return to R&B. Other records like Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993) and Daydream (1997) have good representation, but Emancipation… Usually it makes up about a third of the repertoire.

Hits that marked the time in the charts should be present in the repertoire, such as “We Belong Together”, “Obsessed”, “Fantasy”, “My All”, “Always Be My Baby”, “Touch My Baby” and the version for “Without You” (Original from Badfinger), among others. If the artist promotes changes, it is possible to include her rereading “I Want To Know What Love Is” (Original from Foreigner), aware that the cover was huge success in Brazil.

However, so many changes should not be expected. Carey is notorious for not moving so much in her repertoire, because her show is very well rehearsed. The whole show revolves around the protagonist, who, by the way, makes everything happen only with his voice, as he was also known for moving little on stage to prioritize vocal performance.

Criticism
