The Commission concluded that four of the five genocidal acts defined by international law were committed against the Palestinians during the war.
A United Nations Investigation Commission declared Tuesday (16/9) that Israel committed a genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza.
A new report states that there are reasonable reasons to conclude that four of the five genocidal acts defined by international law have been committed since the beginning of the war with Hamas in 2023: killing the members of a group, cause serious physical and mental damage, deliberately impose conditions calculated to destroy this group and prevent births.
The report of the Commission cites declarations of Israeli leaders and the standard of conduct of Israeli forces as proof of genocidal intention.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel has vehemently rejected the relationship, stating that the document is “distorted and false”.
An Israeli spokesman has accused the three experts of the Commission in serving “Hamas’ representatives” and to trust “entirely in false falsehoods, washed and repeated by others” which “had already been completely exposed”.
Israel’s army launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the unprecedented attack of Hamas in the south of Israel on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 were held hostage.
At least 64,900 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza since then, according to the Ministry of Health of the Territory, administered by Hamas.
Most of the population has also been repeatedly moved. It is estimated that over 90% of the houses have been damaged or destroyed. Health, water, hygiene and hygiene systems have collapsed. The food security experts supported by the United Nations have declared a state of hunger in the city of Gaza.
