James Gunn’s “Superman” debut in Hbo Max at the end of this week

The new film “Superman”, directed and written by James Gunn, has finally obtained the debut date in the HBO Max catalog. The feature marks the beginning of the new DC (DCU) cinematographic universe and presents David Corenswet in the role of the iconic hero.

Production will be available on streaming from September 19th, without additional costs for subscribers.

James Gunn, known as “Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 3”, takes on the creative and executive command of the new shared universe of DC. In addition to signing the direction and script for “Superman”, other confirmed productions will supervise, such as the “Lanterns” series, the film “Supergirl” and the long -awaited “Batman: The Brave and the Bold”.

Despite being in the center of the DCU, the new saga does not include the Matt Reeves film line with Robert Pattinson as Batman, although Gunn has admitted that conversations have already occurred on possible connections.

On Instagram, the actor David Corenswet published a selfie in which he appears in front of a television, connected to Hbo Max, who shows “Superman” in the catalog.

The plot of “Superman”

The story follows Clark Kent in his research to balance his Kryptonian inheritance with his human creation. Even protecting the land and its inhabitants, Superman faces distrust and criticism to be an alien. The conflict reaches the peak when the truth is revealed on its arrival on the planet: a secret hidden in itself.
