Alien’s new episode: Earth bets on the slow pace and only gets breath on the final stretch

This last Tuesday, 17, was available in the Disney+the seventh episode of Alien: Eartha prequel series of the franchise created by Ridley Scott. In it, we follow the company Prodigy studying hybrids and specimens that “fell into their territory”.

From the beginning, we already feel that Alien: Earth It came with a different pace. It would not be one of those revolutionary and rapid pace series and the faster the viewer understands this, the better. Similar to productions such as Blade Runnerthe focus is not on violence, but in a more existentialist science fiction.

But it is at this point that there is controversy: the first is a movie, the second, a series. Even with the similar language, the viewer’s commitment time is not the same and, in Alien: Earththis slow tires.

In this last episode, everything you could already imagine. The script bets on comfortable and decides to play with viewers only half to the end (curiously, this is when the quality increases). With two scholarships on the loose (one of them born due to the decisions of two steps), the island begins to crumble and characters like Boy Kavalier (Samuel Blenkin, Mickey 17) and Hermit (Alex Lawther, Water) start to move.

Another hit is to follow the plot of Wendy (Sydney Chandler, Don’t worry dear) Controlling the Alien. We knew this could happen, after all, no human could have so much contact with xenomorphs without leaving dead and that would be nothing interesting for the development of a production that brings these creatures to Earth with a lot of humans.

We have to wait for next week and the consequences of this prequel. Fortunately, at the end of this episode you can’t get much of what is coming, but it’s always good to remember: a production is not good just because your last half was good.
