In a new mission, several La Unidad agents are in Afghanistan a few days before Kabul is taken by the Taliban and Spain begins the evacuation of civilians and collaborators. Their objective is to meet an infiltrator who has information about a possible attack in Europe, but they are surprised by the clashes between mujahideen, Taliban and ISIS K forces and end up involved in a dangerous situation.
The second season of ‘La Unidad’ has been confirmed as a great success with critics and audiences, which has placed the series at number 1 for consumption on Movistar Plus+ in the month of March. Already the first season became the most viewed content on the platform in the month of its premiere, in May 2020.
This thriller owes its outstanding realism in large part to the advice of the General Information Commissioner of the National Police (CGI). This collaboration with the creative team has been key to faithfully representing the police work of this Spanish unit considered among the best in the world in the fight against terrorism.
Daniel of the Towerco-creator and director of the series, stated that “The eviction of Kabul and the arrival of the Taliban has been something that has moved us, it was a defeat for all humanity that has hit especially women and children. Now no one talks about what happened and how important that defeat is and continues to be. That is why we have decided that La Unidad travel to Afghanistan and experience closely with them everything that happened and continues to happen there. We have to make visible that, as long as fundamental rights are not respected in a country, if all the other countries give up, we have failed”.
