The new boat fleet will leave Italy to go to the Gaza Strip

The ships will sail Saturday (27) of the Region of Sicily

A new fleet of boats that aims to bring humanitarian aid to the Gaza strip is preparing to leave the city of Catania in the south of Italy soon.

The operation, which should start tomorrow (27), in the port of San Giovanni Li Cuti, is planned by the organizations Thousand Madleens in Gaza and Freedom Flotilla Coalition.

The fleet, according to a declaration, will “challenge the illegal block of Israel and exhibit systems that allow their war crimes” and that “the mobilization of citizens is necessary due to the inhales of governments”.

The boats will join those of the global Sumud Flotilha, a fleet that navigates towards the Gaza strip to bring humanitarian aid to the civilian population. The mission brings together more than 600 dozen activists and politicians of countries, including the Swedish environment Greta Thunberg, the Brazilian Tiago Ávila and the Italian deputies.

The global Sumud Flotilha denounced that many of its boats were affected by “multiple drones” while crossing the coast of Greece, with the launch of “unidentified objects”, various “explosions” and blocking of communications.
