The interior minister of Germany Alexander Dobrindt said on Saturday that the threat of drones was “high” and that the country would take measures to defend itself.
The authorities in Europe are in the maximum alert after Rid of Droni in Denmark, which interrupted air traffic in various parts of the country several times last week. The authorities are also investigating sightings in Germany.
“There is a threat that can be classified as high when it comes to drones. It is an abstract but very concrete threat in individual cases,” Dobrindt said to journalists in Berlin.
Among the measures, Germany will try to review a law on aviation safety to allow the country’s armed forces to be involved in massacre drones, he said.
“It is prepared for critical infrastructures or large agglomerations of people, for example, can be protected,” he added.
