The president of the Fluminense accounts underlying Renato’s departure, reveals the pain and says: “He owes the fine”

Mário Bittencourt clarifies his resignation from the IDOLO of the Club in a press conference of the former coach of San Paolo Luis Zubeldía

Mário BittencourtPresident of Fluminense, he participated in CT Carlos Castilho on Saturday, on the eve of the classic with Botafogo, to present the new technician of the newcomer Luis Zubeldíaannounced on Thursday and with a contract signed until the end of 2026. The agent, however, did not hide the disappointment with the predecessor, Renato Gaúchowho left the club on Wednesday, after the elimination of the team of Tricolor in the South American cup, against Lanús Argentino.

“We had a painful elimination, but at no time we were destined to exchange the command. We considered the good season, in our expectations, we were in fourth place in the club’s world cup and we can still win the Brazilian cup”, analyzed Bittencourt.

“I went to the locker room after the game with Lanús to give my support in a sad moment and I was surprised. Renato said he did not want to continue, that he was tired of external problems, angry with some things he was listening to and that made him disgusted by everyday life, not with Fluminense.

Surprised and wounded by the resignation, the president of the Laranjeiras team said Renato will have to pay the fine for the unilateral termination of the contract. “Each employment contract has a bilateral fine. When the coach is fired, we owe the coach to the resignation, he owes the club to the club. Obviously this fine is due (by Renato),” he said. “We had an excellent relationship, but football is like this, it is part.”

Bittencourt also praised the new commander and said he asked for information from Sao Paulo before closing with Zubeldía. “We followed Luis’s work in Sao Paulo, it was a name that enchanted us for a series of interesting characteristics. We listened to a person of Sao Paulo, who told us that they projected us not only from work, but also by the person. It was our great reference,” said the agent, who played that the Argentine did not have an account on social networks.

“I didn’t know Luis had no social networks, but it’s not a criterion,” he said, laughing. “I think Renato did not want to talk about his social network, but about society as a whole. The social network has an impact above all today, positively and negatively, but has a much more impact, due to damage. I think what he meant rendered was that, he is tired.”
