Sam Crane, “The Crown”, will star in “Harry Potter and the Curse of the Child”

“The Crown” actor Sam Crane will play the role of Harry Potter in the new company that will begin performances of “Harry Potter and the Curse of the Child”.

The show is based on the original story by JK Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, published in book form in 2016. The production is created by Thorne and directed by Tiffany.

Crane has a role in “The Crown,” an acclaimed Netflix series that caters to British royalty, where Baron Patrick Plunket lived. He also has extensive theater experience, appearing in “DNA” at the National Theater, “Othello” at Shakespeare’s Globe and “Farinelli and the King” on Broadway.

Alongside Sam Crane’s Harry Potter will be Frances Gray’s Ginny Potter and the couple’s son, Albus Potter, will be played by Thomas Grant. Thomas Aldridge and Michelle Gayle will continue their roles as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. In turn, Grace Wylde will play their daughter, Rose Granger-Weasley. Draco Malfoy will continue to be played by James Howard, while Adam Wadsworth will play his son, Scorpius Malfoy.

“Harry Potter and the Curse of the Child” is a two-part play in which Harry Potter’s son Albus befriends the son of Draco, his father’s great rival in childhood and youth.

The comedy is the eighth story in the “Harry Potter” series, following seven world-famous books that have become eight Warner Bros. The production has sold over five million tickets worldwide since its world premiere in London in July. 2016 and has racked up 60 awards, including nine Laurence Olivier Awards and six Tony Awards.

At present, the story has seven productions touring the world in London, New York, Melbourne, San Francisco, Hamburg, Toronto and Tokyo.

“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, starring Sam Crane, arrives at the Palace Theater in London on October 13th.
