The defender saw Timão play better than Flamengo in the first half, but the possibilities missed the victory
The Corinthians were defeated by Flamengo 2-1 this Sunday (28/09), to the new Chemistry Arena, for the 25th round of the Brazilian championship, and the defender Gustavo Henrique did not hide the frustration with the result. In an interview after the game, the defender analyzed the team’s performance and commented on the penalty wasted by Yuri Alberto.
“In the first place, we played a good game in the first half. We managed to balance and neutralize the moves of Flamengo well. We had the possibility of penalty, goals to face with the goalkeeper, but we have not concluded goals. Give a support for Yuri, obviously there will also be the charge, but has our support,” said Gustavo Henrique.
The defender also commented on one of the controversial games of the game when a side shot generated questions.
“On the back of the side, I thought I was able to crash and the ball hit him. The direction of the ball is clear that hits the Flamengo player and goes on. I can block the ball on him, who strikes him and leaves it,” he explained.

Despite the defeat, Gustavo Henrique evaluated that the Corinthians managed to balance the game and neutralize most of the opponent’s offensive actions.
“Very great frustration, because we managed to neutralize most of their moves. They didn’t create many possibilities and got the result.”
With the result, the Corinthians fell in 12th place in Brazilirão, while Flamengo adds important points in the struggle for the top of the table. Timon returns to the field in the next round to face Internacional in Beira-Rio.
