New PS5 Slim is cheaper in everything except the price

YouTuber Austin Evans has shown the interior of the new console model, which is available only in Europe

The latest version of the PS5 Slim Digital Edition, revealed in September and has concentrated on the European market, has arrived with changes that go beyond the small SSD, from 1 TB to the same 825 GB that the PS5 had at launch.

The information on the new model was revealed by YouTuber Austin Evans, who managed to get his hands on the console.

In short, the new PS5 Slim is lighter and made with cheaper materials, but still offers the same performance and the same power as the previous models (through Push Square).

Some internal parts have changed. For example, the protection of the cooling device is no longer metal but plastic and the thickness of the plate where the dissolution is smaller. In addition, the exterior of the console is now opaque.

Evans said that the changes were intelligently made in almost all ways. The exception is the SSD storage, which was again what the PS5 had in 2020.

All changes in the new version of PS5 Slim have allowed Sony not to increase its price in Europe. The downside is that consumers in that region are paying the same price as before (499 euros) for a slightly worse product.

For now, Sony does not plan to launch this model of the console elsewhere.
